“Good things happen in life when you surround yourself with positive people.” – Roy Bennett
After spending time down in Austin, Tx over the weekend, it such a cool experience to see how many passionate people there are about fitness and community. There are people from all over the world coming to see the sights and sounds of event. In one of the community workouts I was able to participate in, I partnered with Marco from Germany. Rich Froning also jumped into the class and did the workout with everyone else and then posed for pictures and chatted with everyone who came.
These are the moments that help to give confidence that this thing called, “CrossFit” is alive and well, and it’s helping people get healthy, fitter, and build a sense of community with other like minded people. Seeing so many spectators rocking their home gym, or sporting a shirt that supports one of their favorite athletes shows the care and concern they have. We were able to support and showcase our Greater Culture CrossFit gear which is always a proud moment.
I even had the chance to chat with Max El-Hag who is the founder of Training Think Tank. We have a banner of their company in our garage because we have been following their programming from our inception and align with their mission and values. He asked about our affiliate, where we are from, and how things are going. I was able to share how our athletes see great progress in the gym and are challenged each day, while at the same time improving their life outside of the gym.
Overall this weekend is one that continues to fuel the fire to spread to others what can be experienced and achieved with the help of a coach, a community, and people who want to surround themselves with others who are looking to get better by 1% each day.
